New this semester, we have grade 12 students returning to continue building their photography skills, in an independent course. These students have completed the AWQ4M course and desire to go beyond. They have proposed their personal direction for the semester, with clear goals and deadlines outlined. Students will complete research assignments, on-going sketchbook, reflections, and create a photographic body of work. Their work may focus in one, all, or some of the following mediums: in the darkroom, digital photography, editing (Photoshop), and other photographic means proposed.
Students are encouraged to focus their passions into their photographic creations and create a portfolio of work. This is a course that requires a student to be self-motivated and self-regulate. For those students heading off to college or university, this is a fantastic transition course to help you understand the need to set goals and be a self-starter. This course has a limited number of students for enrolment. Please speak to Ms. Cameron & Guidance for more information.
You could explore developer manipulation in the darkroom. The technique below involves the developer being painted onto the surface of the image, rather than 'sloshed' in the tray.
You could explore creating books that house your photographs, with a a paper layer that contrasts or supports your photographic image, pushing your photographic narrative.
